You dive into my bed

Marie-Pascale Hardy (2017)

You dive into my bed. My bed

is a sea. A sea that swirls

and swallows. Swallows limbs

into sleep.

Your leap, head first, increases

ripples, waving wrinkles

in the sheets.

Lesson learned one stormy

night: To hold my pillow tight

At sea pertains a loneliness,

for those who do not dare to

drown, forever float adrift.

You dive into my bed. My bed

is a sea. I am one with the

mattress. You dive into me.

Prayer heard from the Island

of Feathers: May the full moon

pull you close, or by low tide

your body be found
