Leaving Kathleen\/Kathleen Leaving<\/strong>

Her hair once tall and with age, let fall,
Was combed in the presence of
Dymphna the medium and the
Archangel Gabriel, Beneath her, herds
of purple elephants marched, Back and
forth between coal men and
bookmakers, The last thirty years of her
life were spent in pleasure, Providing
warmth for twenty odd vampires with
baby teeth, As the sun rose the tar that
filled the cracks in the streets began to
melt, And every boy with a name
beginning with the letter \u2018c\u2019 was set
free, And every girl with a name that
started with \u2018c\u2019 was left crying, Into tea
bags which then sprouted blue roses,
She was then undressed by pigeons and
wrapped in a quilt made of her
husband’s shirts, \u2018I’m leaving this
evening\u2019, she cried, And \u2018why\u2019, asked a
million shards of grass, \u2018Because some
lovers won\u2019t and some sons can\u2019t come
back\u2019, she responded, And with that
darkness fell and the synagogue at the
end of the street became a dance hall<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steel Tartan and Ambivalence<\/strong>

Locked in a cold bondage and still comforted by the steel and glistening tartan,
She refuses to take view of her home,
Instead she lets the light of the moon take aim,
She lets it keep her there,
Each crater a small reminder of each glass smashed and every yell yelled,
There is a forgiveness in the stars (so she says) and reality sits in her hand (so she hopes),
Below her feet, concrete vibrates bringing with it, her usual ardour,
Through her cosa up to her cro\u00ed,
Around her, the wind questions how much is too much and when is enough,
Till every trains voyage is blessed in your name,
And only then will she release what is in her hand and allow your cover to return home<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
