FarEastBerlin – some true discoveries

30 April 2019, 6:54 pm - Blog - Martin Jankowski

It is well known that the Vietnamese were once East Berlin’s most important migrant group: Today there are Vietnam-Bistros everywhere and wonderful flower and fruit shops – but where are the Vietnamese literary people? The good news: they exist! (But unfortunately they are not as easy to find as the Turkish writers of West Berlin…) Not only did we find some of the most important Vietnamese authors for you, but we also invited important Chinese writers, Japanese, Korean and authors & experts of other Asian languages from all over Berlin for the first time. This symposium will therefore be an extraordinary premiere for the literary scene in the German capital: FarEastBerlin – the Asian authors of Berlin on 23 May from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the LCB! Be part of discovering one of the most astonishing and colourful pages of our literary scenes, which has so far hardly caught the attention of the Berlin public… the whole programme HERE!
