Anila Wilms is an Albanian writer. She was born in 1971 in Tirana and has lived in Berlin since 1994. She studied historiography from 1989 to 2001 at the University of Tirana and at the Eastern European institute of the Free University in Berlin. In August 2012 her debut novel (“Das albanische Öl oder Mord auf der Straße des Nordens”) was published in German. It was awarded the Adelbert Chamisso advancement awardof the Robert Bosch institute in 2013. In the same year she was awarded the Stuttgarter Krimipreis (en. Stuttgart crime novel award). In 2014 she was commemorated with the Comburg stipend of the city of Schwäbisch Hall.
