Ethel Barja, born 1988 in Peru, studied Latin American Literature at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima and Latin American studies at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Her fields of research focuses on transnational contemporary literature, Postcolonial studies and the literary translation. She has published the poetry collections „Trofeo imaginado entre dientes“ (SENAJU, 2011), „Gravitaciones“ (Paracaídas Editores, 2013) and „Insomnio vocal“ (Alastor, 2016). She is currently completing her doctorate at Brown University and leads gociterra, a web portal for critiques and creation. She lives in Providence, USA.
