Jayrôme C. Robinet

Jayrôme C. Robinet, born in France in 1977, is an author, spoken word artist and translator, blogger, journalist and activist. He holds an MA in Biographic and Creative Writing from the Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin. Robinet lives and works in Berlin. Two short story collections of his have been published in France and in 2015, he published his German debut, a prose and poetry collection with a foreword by Nora Gomringer. In 2012, he was the Writer in Residence at the Villa Decius in Krakow with a stipend of the foundation for German-Polish cooperation. He is also laureate of the short story competition of the region Nord-Pas-de-Calais (2002) and of the poetry competition La Scène du Balcon in Paris (2014). His one man show “Das Licht ist weder gerecht noch ungerecht” (light is neither fair nor unfair) premiered at the Maxim Gorki theater in 2015. Jayrôme C. Robinet is gender fluid with variable background. His recent book “Mein Weg von einer weißen Frau zu einem jungen Mann mit Migrationshintergrund” is currently causing a big debate on gender identity not only in Berlin…
