Lucy Jones comes from Great Britain and has lived in Berlin since 1998. She studied German, Film and Applied Linguistics in the UK. After various jobs, including freelance fashion photography, she became a translator specialising in theatre, culture, dance and art. In connection with this return to her roots, she founded Transfiction in 2008, a translation collective in Berlin. She is also a literary translator: among others, she has translated works by Annemarie Schwarzenbach, Silke Scheuermann, Ronald Schernikau, the diaries of Brigitte Reimann and Theresia Enzensberger. She organises a reading series for “works-in-progress”, the Fiction Canteen, for authors and translators in Berlin.
