Mehdi Moradpour is author, translator and interpreter for Persian and Spanish. He studied Physics / Industrial Techology in Iran and Hispanic Studies, Sociology, American and Arabic Studies in Leipzig and Havanna. From 2014 to 2016 he attended the playwriting workshop series “FORUM TEXT” of uniT in Graz. For „mumien. ein heimspiel“ (mummies. a home match) he received 2015 the Jury Prize of the 3rd competition of Theater St. Gallen and Constance; for “türme des schweigens” (Towers of Silence) in 2016 The Exile Playwright prize of the WIENER WORTSTAETTEN. In 2017, he received the Christian Dietrich Grabbe Prize for “reines land”(Pure Land) and in 2018 the EURODRAM Award for “ein körper für jetzt und heute” (a body or now and today). From 2020/21 Moradpour will work as a dramaturge at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
