Mona Yahia

Mona Yahia, born in Baghdad in 1954, fled with her family to Iran in 1970 and immigrated from there to Israel. She studied psychology at Tel Aviv University and art at the Gesamthochschule Kassel. Her debut novel “When the Grey Beetles Took over Baghdad” received the Jewish Quarterly Wingate Prize for Fiction in London in 2001, and has been translated into German and French. Mona Yahia writes in English and lives in Cologne.
