Saida Rößner is a German-Jamaican author and was born 1991 in Berlin. At the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Leeds she studied journalism and communications studies as wells as film studies. Rößner works as a freelance multimedia journalist and photographer in Berlin. In her texts she examines black life realities and identities and chronicles resistance to racism in Germany. In the past she has written about Berlins colonial history and a feminist women collective, which organizes Berlin events around the theme of “Black Lives Matter”. In addition, Saida Rößner is active in cultural and political-educational work in Germany and South Africa. On social media she shares literary texts on identity and home.
