Sînziana Păltineanu is an experimental fiction writer based in Berlin and working at the crossings of fiction- and history writing, queer feminism, librarianship and open knowledge. Sînziana holds a Ph.D. in modern European history from the Central European University. Among other awards and fellowships, Sînziana was a Reese Miller Scholar and Telluride Association Member at Cornell University (Ithaca/USA) and a Fellow for Literature at Akademie Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart/Germany). In 2015 Sînziana published their first novel, Elephant Chronicles, with the Berlin-based publishing platform Fiktion. The novel is available as an open-access e-book in English (original) and in German (translation by Zoë Beck). Recent short-stories include “The woman without a mouth” and “An experimental transcript”.
