Ü-Berlin – the international translators of  Berlin

They are the elixir of the world literary city of Berlin and yet they are overlooked – the many international translators who live on the Spree and translate German-language literature (or other literatures) into the languages of the world.  Ü-BERLIN offers a forum for the exchange of stories and insights from the double perspective of a “displaced” homeland and one’s own language. In a laboratory for the future, strategies for bridging economic and artistic hardships and imbalances are reflected upon and possibilities for networking, visibility and promotion are explored. A cultural-political panel and a literary evening round off the public event. Ü-Berliners, get involved!
