Donna Stonecipher grew up in Seattle and Tehran. Her first book of poetry was published in 2002: “The Reservoir” (winner of the American Contemporary Poetry Series Competition 2002). The second volume followed in 2007: “Souvenir de Constantinople.” In 2008 appeared “The Cosmopolitan”, (winner of the American National Poetry Series 2007, selected by John Yau), in 2015 “Model City” and in 2018 “Transaction Histories”, named by the New York Times as one of the 10 best poetry books of 2018. In 2017, she published “Prose Poetry and the City.” She has received numerous work and residency grants, including a working fellowship from the Berlin Senate, and her poems have been translated into seven languages. Her translation of Friederike Mayr\u00f6cker’s “\u00e9tudes,” for which she won an NEA grant in 2015, was published in 2020. Donna Stonecipher lives in Berlin, where she works as a writer and translator.<\/p>\n
