Since\u00a02006, she writes primarily in German, her short fiction has been published in several journals.\u00a0Cole has translated books from\u00a0Friedrich D\u00fcrrenmatt, Franz F\u00fchmann, Annemarie Schwarzenbach, Wolfgang Hilbig and Hermann Ungar among others. In addition, she was co-founder and publisher of <em>www.no-mans-land.org<\/em>, the online journal for German literature in\u00a0English, and co-editor of the literary magazine <em>lauter niemand<\/em>. In 2013 she was one of the initiators of the global campaign &#8220;Writers Against Mass Surveillance&#8221;. Her debut novel &#8220;Die gr\u00fcne Grenze. Ein M\u00e4rchen&#8221; (The green Border. A fairy tale) was published by Edition Nautilus in 2017 and nominated for the Leipzig Bookfair Award 2018.
