Barbara Julieta Bellini was born in Buenos Aires on 28 March 1991. She has since lived in Italy, France and Germany, writing short stories all the time. She currently lives in Germany. She studied at the University of Trento and at the Technical University of Dresden and completed her studies with a Master’s thesis on the Italian reception of Max Frisch between 1950 and 1970. In her research, she is interested in contemporary German and French literature, especially the works of Uwe Timm and Emmanuel Carr\u00e8re. She is also concerned with processes of literary transfers and translations. Her work is focused on the Italian publishing industry and applies tools from the sociology of literature and translation to her analyses. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate at the Universit\u00e9 Sorbonne Nouvelle, where she is also a lecturer in the department of German language and literature. Additionally, she runs a studio\/workshop for doctoral candidates for the French literature of the extr\u00eame contemporain at the university.
