Pedro Kadivar was born in Shiraz (Iran) and fled to France at the age of sixteen during the Iran-Iraq war. In Paris, he studied literature and theatre at the University Paris III-Sorbonne Nouvelle. From 1988 he worked as an assistant director at various theatres in Paris, and from 1993 as a theatre director, later also in Berlin. In February 2002, he completed his doctorate at the Institute for Romance Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin, where he has been active as a lecturer ever since. In 2012 he completed an authors’ fellowship at “La Maison des Auteurs” in Limoges (France).<\/p>\n
In 2006 he staged his own play Herbstst\u00fcck – An einem Herbsttag irgendwo<\/em> (the first part of a theatrical tetralogy about the four seasons) at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, the original French version of which was published in Paris in September 2007. The second play in the tetralogy, Pi\u00e8ce d’hiver – Une visite au mus\u00e9e (Winter Play – A Visit to the Museum)<\/em> was awarded the “Aide \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation” prize by the Centre National du Th\u00e9\u00e2tre in Paris in 2008 and presented in three different staged readings in France. His play Kunst der Flucht<\/em>, developed as part of a project with LGBT refugees, premiered at the Gorki Theatre in Berlin in July 2017 and will be revived in October 2021.<\/p>\n In 2014, he received the prizes “Prix SACD de la dramaturgie de langue fran\u00e7aise 2014” and the “L’aide \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation du Centre national du th\u00e9\u00e2tre”.<\/p>\n Petit Livre des Migrations.
