Elisabetta Abbondanza was born in Perugia (Italy) and grew up in a German-Italian home. She studied literature in Munich and wrote her doctorate on the writer Rudolf Borchardt. She has translated some of his works into Italian. In 1999 Elisabetta Abbondanza moved to Berlin with her two children, where she studied screenwriting at the German Film and Television Academy Berin (DFFB). She has written several screenplays and a libretto. In addition to contributions to magazines and anthologies, she has published three volumes of poetry in Italian (one volume was translated into German and published by Lunardi Verlag Berlin), a volume of short stories and a guide to creative writing. Elisabetta Abbondanza has also led intercultural projects with children and adults aimed at developing independence, creativity and social skills. In projects such as “7xLife,” “I Feel Together,” “Snow White from Damascus,” “Stories of a Thousand and One Days,” “My Fire Moon Animal and Me,” and “On the Road,” she has used writing in different languages as an important means of searching for meaning and self-expression, playing with narrative forms, performing arts, and digital media.
