During his studies he worked at the Elfenbein Verlag in Berlin and as a lecturer at the Department of Sinology at the Westf\u00e4lische Wilhelms-Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnster. He has been head of the Kapsel editorial team since 2018 and co-editor since 2021. His translations have appeared in Heften f\u00fcr ostasiatische Literatur, Heyne and Kapsel. He also researches Chinese theatre.
