She has published several novels and short story collections in German, including The Chinese Delegation and Longing for Shanghai. In 2007, she was awarded the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize. In 2017, she received the Erfurt City Writer&#8217;s Prize for Literature. In 2020, she was an Alfred D\u00f6blin Fellow of the Berlin Academy of Arts. Her new novel <em>Das M\u00e4dchen und der Tod<\/em> was published by Secession Verlag Berlin in Sept. 2024.
