Nicos Ligouris was born in Athens and lives in Berlin. He studied at the HFF Munich, and his diploma work was the film Mitteleuropa. He wrote film reviews for the Greek film magazine Synchronos Kinimatographos. His films include Nebel unter der Sonne (Fog Under the Sun), Erebos, Herz aus Stein (Heart of Stone), Sommerblitze (Summer Lightning), Die Liebenden von Axos (The Lovers from Axos), Sultan Ahmed ist aufgewacht (Sultan Ahmed Has Awoken), Dialog von Berlin (Dialogue of Berlin), as well as a series of portraits of directors such as Theo Angelopoulos, Jacques Doillon, Paul Vecchiali, and Alexander Sokurov. In August 2022, his short story collection Elf Sommergeschichten (Eleven Summer Tales) was published by the Greek publisher To Rodakio.
