Konstantinos Kosmas was born in Athens in 1971. He studied Modern Greek there and completed his doctorate at the Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin in 2002. He worked at the Hellenic Foundation for Culture in Berlin from 2000 to 2012, was the coordinator of the Center for Modern Greece (CeMoG), and was responsible for the Edition Romiosini project at the Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin from 2013 to 2023. Since 2024, he has been the coordinator of EU-funded research projects (ERC) at the same university.
Since 2005, he has also been translating German-language literature into Greek, including novels by Hans-Magnus Enzensberger, Norbert Gstrein, Christoph Hein, Daniel Kehlmann, Herta M\u00fcller, Anne Weber, and Sa\u0161a Stani\u0161i\u0107.
