Dr. Harun Badakhshi lives and works in Berlin; he was born in Kabul during a time that was not particularly turbulent. He received a decade of schooling in Kabul and completed his high school diploma in Berlin. After studying medicine and dabbling in philosophy in Berlin during the 1990s, he has spent the past three decades as a clinical physician, university lecturer, and publishing researcher. And he has done so willingly, to this day. Since then, his philosophical experiments have remained confined to narrow (intellectual) spaces. Poetry, however (especially in the most beautiful language in the world) has always been his primary medium and source of revelation. He attempts the impossible: translating Rilke and Heiner M\u00fcller into Persian, understanding Lorca and Paz, and bringing Hegel and Heidegger into the mainstream.
