Birte Fritsch is a curator and cultural manager. Most recently, she curated the exhibition “Marginalized: The Art of a Lost Generation, 1918\u20131989” at the Kunsthalle Brennabor in Brandenburg an der Havel, where she is currently helping to shape the institution\u2019s future direction, and led the team of program curators at the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin. Previously, as a curator at the Museum Zentrum f\u00fcr verfolgte K\u00fcnste (2020\u20132023), she was responsible for national and international exhibitions and literary festivals focusing on artists whose opportunities for development and works were blocked, prevented, and in some cases destroyed by the dictatorships of the last century and totalitarian regimes up to the present day. From 2018 to 2019, she served as project director and curator of the anniversary year \u201cMeinw\u00e4rts. 150 Years of Else Lasker-Sch\u00fcler\u201d for the Cultural Office of the City of Wuppertal. In addition to the tension between art and crisis up to the present day, her work focuses primarily on issues of diversity-sensitive and co-creative cultural work, as well as exhibition and staging practices.
