Prince Kamaazengi Marenga<\/strong> is a Namibian Ovaherero poet, writer, artist and cultural organiser based in Germany. A descendant of survivors of the Ovaherero and Nama genocide, his work explores memory, displacement, colonial afterlives, identity and the relationship between historical violence and contemporary life. Writing across poetry, orature and performance, Marenga describes himself as a “poem-tree farmer”, cultivating what he calls PenBrainRain – inking with little th-inking. His work frequently brings historical archives, family memory, museum collections and public space into dialogue. Marenga is also active in the Ovaherero reparatory-justice movement in Europe, working on questions of historical recognition, restitution, repatriation and direct redress. His artistic and political practice asks how histories that were once silenced continue to speak\u2014and what happens when their descendants begin speaking back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
