Bahlsen is a recipient of the 2025 work stipend for Non-German literature from the Berlin senate. He holds a bachelor in philosophy and music from the University of Sussex and a MSc in creative writing from Edinburgh University. His prose has been published in <em>cake magazine, minor literature\/s <\/em>and<em> The Wild Word<\/em>, among others. His poetry was short-listed for the <em>Into the Void Poetry Prize 2020<\/em>. He has translated texts by Sharon Otoo, Donna Stonecipher, Idra Novey, William Cody Maher, Chavisa Woods, MC Jabber, Marie-Pascale Hardy, G\u00f6ksu Kunak, Ian Orti and more.
