He studied different languages and literatures in Mali and Illinois (USA). He writes his texts in Songhay, French and English, and considers multilingualism as fundamental to living together in harmony and to intercultural dialog. Hence his own engagement in documenting and modernizing the Songhay language, particularly through the translation of a diverse body of texts.\u00a0He lives and works in Basel (from 2001 on).<\/p>\n<p class=\"bibliography\">Mohomodou Houssouba will read at the Image Afrique Stadtsprachen as part of the 2017\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imageafrique.com\/image-afrique-festival-2017-1-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Image Afrique Festival<\/a>\u00a0in Basel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mohomodou Houssouba (*1965) is from Gao, northeast Mali.
