In 1973 he co-founded the <em>Chile-Nachrichten<\/em>, in 1974 the research and documentation center Chile-Latin America (FDCL); from 1978 on he worked as editor at the\u00a0<em>Lateinamerika Nachrichten<\/em>. In 1981 he habilated in sociology at the FU Berlin. After his retirement from the FU he became proffesor of sociology at the\u00a0Centrum Studi\u00f3w Latynoamerykanskich (CESLA, Center of Latin American studies) of the\u00a0University of\u00a0Warschau (2004-2007).
