His semi-autobiographical graphic novels &#8220;Corridor&#8221; (2004) and &#8220;The Barn Owl\u2019s Wondrous Capers&#8221; (2007) create a fictitious mix of history, mythology and popular culture with insights into contemporary urban life. &#8220;The Harappa Files&#8221;, published by Harper Collins in 2011, display Banerjee&#8217;s very own structure of the graphic novel and is described as a loose collection of graphic commentaries on India as a \u201cfast capitalizing society suffering from bi-polar disorder&#8221;. A project called \u201cGallery of Losers\u201d of \u201csporting near-misses\u201d &#8211; those men and women who almost won a medal &#8211; sponsored by the Frieze Foundation was displayed on billboards in East London throughout the 2012 Olympics. During his extended stay in Berlin he created a series of 17 episodes, made up of longer texts and illustrations that reflect on the absurdities of life in a big city (published in <em>The Hindu<\/em>, in 2013). Born in Calcutta in 1972, Banerjee studied biochemistry at Delhi University and received his MA in image and communications from Goldsmiths, University of London. Banerjee\u2019s work is represented by Project 88 Gallery in Kolkata where he had several solo exhibitions from 2008 to 2012. Awards and fellowships include the <em>MacArthur Indian Foundation for the Arts<\/em> and the <em>Charles Wallace Trust Award<\/em>.
