She studied geography at the FU Berlin, as well as city and regional planning at the TU Berlin. She works as a researcher at the Westinstitut with a stipend of the <em>German-Polish Research Foundation<\/em>. She leads the project &#8220;Polnischer Sozialrat Aktiv&#8221;. Kot was also project leader of the &#8220;Osteuropa-Tage Berlin 2017&#8221;, an intercultural festival which aims to present different aspects of the culture, literature and art of eastern European countries to a diverse Berlin audience. She is member of the association &#8220;St\u00e4dtepartner Stettin e.V.&#8221; which organized the festival.
