Ani Menua was born in 1983 in Yerevan, Armenia and grew up partly in Moscow. In 1997, her family emigrated to Germany. She writes, translates, curates and publishes:<\/p>\n
She completed her master’s degree in philosophy, comparative literature, and Slavsitic studies at Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. In her interlingual (German, Russian, Armenian) and interdisciplinary (philosophy, literature, art) work, she critically examines, among other things, the interaction of language and identity and investigates practically and theoretically, for example in the context of her artistic research project “Performative Poetics”. In this project, she specifically examines which new epistemological interpretive spaces open up for identity when the semantic levels associated with text and word are questioned or annulled at interlingual intersections. She presented this artistic research method on multilingualism in a lecture and workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She is currently developing an audio book on the topic of war, genocide and memory culture in a transdisciplinary team of authors. She is one of the co-founders of the X3 Podcast.<\/p>\n
