He trained as a church musician, worked in the homeless aid service in New York and studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. He lives in Berlin where he works as an author and translator from Icelandic. His debut novel &#8220;Zuhause&#8221; (2005) was awarded the <em>Rauriser Literaturpreis<\/em>, his novels &#8220;Das war ich nicht&#8221; and &#8220;Arztroman&#8221; were bestsellers. In 2011 his &#8220;Gebrauchsanweisung f\u00fcr Island&#8221; was published. His comedy &#8220;M\u00e4nnerhort&#8221; was performed in over 100 theatres in Germany and abroad and was filmed in 2014 with Christoph Maria Herbst, Detlev Buck and Elyas M&#8217;Barek. He was awarded the <em>Jane Scatcherd Prize<\/em> in 2016 for his translations. Kristof Magnusson supports the project &#8220;Literatur in Einfacher Sprache&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bibliography\">Zuhause.
