Aly Cha grew up in a multi-cultural environment with Japanese father and Korean mother, lived in Japan, Korea, America, Canada and Switzerland, and was educated in Buddhist as well as Catholic establishments. She remains an Agnostic, however, and considers herself as a citizen of the world who is not tied to a particular culture or region. She currently divides her time between Berlin, New York City and Zurich. As an aspiring filmmaker, she wrote several screenplays, including the very first version of what had eventually become the novel, “Schnee im April”.<\/p>\n
