What languages does Berlin write in? In varying locations, PARATAXE regularly invites Berlin authors, who pen their work in languages other than German, to take part in conversations, readings and new translations.<\/p>\n
On April 29 we present the prose author Hila Amit<\/strong><\/a> (Israel\/Berlin), translated especially for this evening by Markus Lemke<\/strong>, and the poet Ali Abdollahi<\/strong><\/a> (Iran\/Berlin) in cooperation with Berliner Literaturhaus.<\/p>\n An evening in German and English with some passages in Hebrew and Persian – and with German translations! The prose by Hila Amit, translated from Hebrew into German by Markus Lemke<\/strong>, will be read by Bastienne Voss<\/strong><\/a>, and the German poems by Ali Abdollahi will be read by Karim Ch\u00e9rif<\/strong><\/a>. The event will be moderated by the writer Martin Jankowski (Berliner Literarische Aktion).<\/p>\n Please note: Due to the lockdown regulations currently in place, visitors may not be allowed on site, in which case we will be streaming this program live on the internet here and on Facebook!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
