Its arts are so present in the city&#8217;s everyday life that hardly anyone notices them as special anymore. Many Berlin artists of Asian origin are also active in several cultural fields at once: they are novelists and painters, musicians and filmmakers, dancers and poets, graphic artists, performers and sculptors, and much more at the same time. Two years ago, the Vietnamese friends of our association therefore suggested to create a suitable stage for this and to give these genre-spanning phenomena the attention they deserve &#8211; the <em>Berlin Asia Arts Club<\/em> was founded to regularly present Asian Berliners and their arts at the <em>moving poets Novilla<\/em>. Here, for the first time, is a festival dedicated to this lively Berlin scene and its specific artistic themes and aspects, with all their potential: The BERLIN ASIA ARTS Festival from September 15 to October 8, 2023!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20178 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/stadtsprachen.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Logo-Hell.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"421\" \/>The festival is curated by designer, artist and cultural mediator Yi Meng Wu, author, translator and scholar Dr. \u0110\u0103ng L\u00e3nh Ho\u00e0ng, and translator and interpreter H\u1eb1ng Th\u1ecb Y\u1ebfn Ho\u00e0ng. Together with other consultants from this scene, they have put together a varied program that will give us direct encounters with the diversity of these arts. With a Korean drum performance, Indonesian shadow play, Japanese comics and a Cambodian-German concert, a philosophical dialogue with a Buddhist monk and a reading about the fate of the Uyghurs, the festival kick-off already offers an impressive program. In the following days and weeks, numerous other events and workshops await us at the moving poets NOVILLA and at selected cooperation venues with brilliant guests: Y<strong>oko Tawada, Sony Thet, Dorothea Rosa Herliany, Yang Lian, the Lotus Ensemble, Yaxin Yang, \u0110\u1eb7ng Ng\u1ecdc Long, Takeo Oshima, Soydivision, Echo Tang,<\/strong> the band <strong>Mitsune<\/strong> and many others &#8211; more than 50 guest artists and experts have confirmed their participation. The festival will be accompanied by an art exhibition with contributions from seven Asian artists from Berlin in the Novilla Gallery.<\/p>\n<p>The BERLIN ASIA ARTS Festival addresses the interconnections and discourses of the local Asia-related cultural scenes, promotes cultural dialogue and the active participation of the Berlin public.
