Over the years, we have established ourselves as a platform for voices that would otherwise have remained too quiet, too invisible or simply unheard.<br><br>But while we celebrate, the horizon is darkening. Berlin, a city that thrives on its cultural diversity, is currently facing drastic cuts in the cultural sector. The literary scene is not spared either. These are not just cuts in budgets \u2013 they are attacks on the creative substance of our city, on the spaces in which identity, memory and the future are negotiated.<br><br>Literature is much more than mere entertainment. It is a mirror of society, a place of encounter and debate. It gives a voice to those who would otherwise be silenced. In a city like Berlin, which thrives on its migration histories, its multilingualism and its cultural diversity, literature is an indispensable part of the social fabric.<br><br>The cuts affect us all. They threaten the places where authors exchange ideas, readers find new perspectives and dialogues across linguistic and cultural boundaries can flourish. At stake is nothing less than the question of which stories we will still be able to tell in the future \u2013 and which ones will not.<br><br>Especially now, in times of uncertainty, it is more important than ever to defend the voice of literature. <em>stadtsprachen magazin <\/em>remains a place of resistance, a space where stories can survive and grow. This issue is a testament to the courage and resilience of the Berlin literary scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We thank all the authors who have enriched this issue with their texts and all the readers who have accompanied us along the way. Let us continue to carry the language of the city together \u2013 loudly, in many voices and unmistakably.<br><br>In the 30th issue of our multilingual <em>stadtsprachen magazine<\/em>, we present <strong>23 texts <\/strong>by <strong>31 authors and translators<\/strong> in <strong>14 languages<\/strong>.
