Graham Hains<\/a> has been observing our work with writers, poets and artists from all over the world through the camera since 2010. The reason for our collaboration is simple: Hains is an artist of human portrayal, a master of light and the right moment. Graham Hains is interested in the protagonists of the Berlin literary world in which we operate – and we were interested in his extraordinary photographic skills. Since then, this Berlin-based Australian photographer has accompanied many of our projects and events; each of his numerous photo series for our literary evenings, festivals and symposia is exceptional in its own way. He has become a friend as an artistic companion to our work, and over the years his images have always been something other than snapshots or mere documents. Many of his photo series can be found in a large selection here on the websites for our projects and events.
It is therefore a great pleasure that the master of moments has decided to bring together a selection of his pictures of shared experiences in the Berlin literary and art world in an impressive illustrated book entitled Anything but Ordinary<\/strong>, whose aesthetic bears his signature. The pool of images from which he draws for this includes numerous joint undertakings in recent years, from the Berlin-wide stadtsprachen festival <\/em>in Fall of 2016 to several of our international literary salons and reading series to our festivals such as: the Urban Dictionary – Berlin New York Festival <\/em>(2018 at many different art venues), the Middle East Union Festival <\/em>and the UNRAST – German-Polish Literature Forum <\/em>(both 2021 at various venues) as well as the Berlin Asia Arts Festival <\/em>(2023 at the Novilla, among others) and many other events.
This extraordinary book was produced by us in a small edition and can be purchased exclusively through us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
