The latest edition of our stadtsprachen magazin <\/em>brings together a diverse range of topics, voices and languages. It covers topics as varied as children, war and kinkiness. It explores the realms of the physical, vulnerability and politics. It’s about people on the run: searching, finding, remembering and forgetting. It is about enduring closeness and bearing loneliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authors of the texts in this issue come from a variety of backgrounds and offer different views on the city, the world and themselves. Some write with clear directness, while others use subtle allusions. Some tell stories, while others pose questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As always, form is as important as content. Examples include multilingualism, changes in tone and overlapping and contradictory perspectives that still find their place alongside one another in this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This issue is not a thematic collection, but a space. It is a space in which voices that are often not heard enough in everyday literary life can be heard. It is also open to friction and contradiction, and ultimately to forming new connections between text, city, and reader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 23 texts by 38 authors and translators in 13 languages: English, Spanish, Turkish, Hebrew, Romanian, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, French, Basque, Mandarin, German and Russian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
