I\u2019m an imprint of those who\u2019ve been passing me by and through,
\nAll of those who\u2019ve touched and got burnt or instead got on fire.
\nI am just a collection containing each scar, wound and bruise
\nFrom the people whose limit of living in me has expired.<\/p>\n

Looking deep into me, try to hear the music of strings
\nThat are holding together my whole inner world full of stitches.
\nAnd no one can be stopped \u2013 neither beggars, nor masters or kings \u2013
\nAll are proud of traces and scars as of countless riches.<\/p>\n

A defeat or a victory \u2013 I\u2019m not the one to decide,
\nAll perverted emotions for sure have their own fans.
\nBut they still keep on hanging victorious flags with pride,
\nWhile I\u2019m trying to find my salvation with tea in my hands.<\/p>\n

You can also at times come along just to look at the scars:
\nWhether all are in place, whether they have not started healing.
\nOur memory is like a temple between the bars \u2013
\nYou keep coming for worship, still hoping for leftover feelings.<\/p>\n

And I guess that you need me to stay like you\u2019ve left me \u2013
\nAlone,
\nFull of traces and burns.
\nBut there\u2019s something you need to remember:
\nWhile you\u2019re poking on scars \u2013
\nSomeone else treats them just like his own,
\nTaking over the pain on the verge of another September.<\/p>\n

2. Der Schneeball in Rot<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Schatz, du wirst bald das gew\u00f6hnliche Haus verlassen,
\nWas sollen wir dann bei dem Efeu im Garten anpflanzen?
\n– Wenn ich als Erwachsener mich mit dem Leben befasse,
\nSowie mit der Welt, ihrer Vielfalt des Schmerzes und Glanzes \u2013
\nLasst Schneeball in Rot seine Wurzeln im Boden tief schlagen,
\nLasst ihn seine Zweige der Sonne entgegen erstrecken.
\nEr kriegt alles mit \u2013 eure Arbeit kommt langsam zum Tragen \u2013
\nDie Liebe, die Sorgfalt, die ewigen Schmerzen im Becken.
\nLasst Strahlen des S\u00fcdens die t\u00e4gliche W\u00e4rme ihm spenden,
\nDer starke unb\u00e4ndige Taurien-Wind wird ihn wiegen:
\nEr singt f\u00fcr den Schneeball in Rot seinen Song ohne Ende
\nUnd bringt liebe Gr\u00fc\u00dfe f\u00fcr mich mit den V\u00f6geln und Fliegern.
\nDer Schneeball in Rot w\u00e4chst, die G\u00e4ste bef\u00fcllen den Garten,
\nEin seelisches Lied klingt gelegentlich abends am Feuer.
\nEin ruhiges Leben mit Einigem noch zu erwarten
\nBefl\u00fcgelt im eigenen Hause weiter zu Tr\u00e4umen.
\nUnd dann kommt der Krieg.
\nUnd pl\u00f6tzlich wird dann meine Wiege \u2013
\nDas Dorf meiner Eltern \u2013 zum Schlachtfeld inmitten zweier Fronten.
\nDie Felder von Weizen und Gerste, die mir so nahe liegen,
\nVerbrennen zu Asche dort, wo meine Kindheit mal wohnte.
\nBlutb\u00fcschel in Rot statt den Sprossen erscheinen im Garten,
\nWo ihr meine Lieben der Erde das Leben stets schenkten.
\nAll das bleibt zur\u00fcck.
\nDie furchtbare Unklarheit wartet.
\nDie Strahlen des S\u00fcdens verbleiben fortan im Gedenken.
\nDer Schneeball in Rot wird trotz alledem weiter bl\u00fchen,
\nDie Sonne belebt seine un\u00fcberwindbaren Zweige.
\nDennoch wird bei denen, die sich um den Neustart bem\u00fchen,
\nDas Schicksal mit Tr\u00e4nen im L\u00e4cheln f\u00fcr immer noch bleiben.<\/p>\n

in the beginning all seeds seek the soil to start rooting
\ngrowing with time into generous crops or sunflowers
\nfields in their pursuit of life lead the grains to their beauty
\nwhere the soil bears greatness –
\nthe roots bear power
\njust like a sprouted seed watches fields that are burning
\nremnants of smoke-covered walls stand on sorrowful duty
\nhome is the place where you always want to return to
\nhome is like human rooting
\nhome is the holiday chatter so cheerful and grooving
\nrays overflowing the garden among cherry blossoms
\nthe eyes of the icon condemn in restrained disapproval
\ncursing the hands of the strangers who come in and toss it
\ncarpets in rubble and ashes the garden is bare
\nbloodcurdling pain from a picture which I have once drawn
\nlong strains of gray finding way on the head of my parents –
\nthese are my roots and my roots are deprived of home
\nhome is a suitcase a blue passport cover with \u201cvolya\u201d
