Oktober 2024, Maschinenhaus\/Kulturbrauerei)<br>Panel 1: Roter Mohn an der Spree \u2013 chinesischsprachige Literatur aus Berlin<br>Keynote\/Poesiefilm und Gru\u00dfwort Liao Yiwu: Massaker 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GREETING WORD LIAO YIWU on October 19, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Warm greetings to the PARATAXE Symposium XV &#8211; Writing Chinese in Berlin!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, due to a trip abroad, I am unable to attend the \u201cWriting Chinese in Berlin\u201d event in person; I am very touched that the organizer, Martin Jankowski, still allowed me to take my place at Writing Chinese in Berlin with a public screening of the short film \u201cThe Second Massacre\u201d.<br>I had written and read \u201cThe Holocaust\u201d in the early hours of June 4, 1989, to commemorate the victims of the Tiananmen Square massacre in Beijing. At the time, I didn&#8217;t think that 30 years later a similarly bloody crackdown would take place in Hong Kong &#8211; and even less that I would write and read \u201cThe Second Massacre\u201d in Berlin.<br>I went into exile and met many Chinese and Hong Kong exiles who wrote in Chinese in Berlin &#8211; and in November 1989, when the Berlin Wall came down, Martin Jankowski and others ceased to be \u201cunderground writers and dissidents in the former GDR\u201d.<br>I wonder when the Berlin Wall will come down in China. &#8230;&#8230; I and all of us here are no longer \u201cChinese underground writers and dissidents\u201d.
