sometimes I tend to speak
\nto that half self leaning
\nto myself, as seeming
\nas the skin on my bones,
\nhanging to the sleepless
\nbody by the thinnest nerves
\nand always in my reach
\nas the glance in my eyes<\/p>\n
that half staring through
\nmy darkness into the empty
\ncorner of the mirror,
\nrestlessly emerging
\nfrom the other side of the self,
\nlike an inward waning moon
\nof which I am neither one
\nquarter, nor the full<\/p>\n
for I cannot say how deep it will
\nfade under-skin or beyond
\nwhen it catches my last breath
\nin struggle with the air
\nand whether that is what
\nsome call soul, whose sleep
\nis the pause of the wake<\/p>\n
