\nWe lazily watch our unpredictable
\nthoughts. Afraid of them. This much is clear.
\nLanguage conceals desire.
\nBetrays its own master. Spews stars
\ninto the sky so we can talk
\nabout them at all, and then alone
\nwe realize how mercilessly they
\nignore us. Empty plates
\nignore us. The air ignores us. Drinking is a
\nrhythm that makes two songs out of one. But
\nnow I\u2019m repeating myself. This much is clear \u2013
\nif we return to each other
\nclean and with the same, familiar features,
\nwe\u2019ve gained nothing.<\/p>\n
